The University of Queensland’s landmark Forgan Smith building has begun a new chapter in its long-standing history, being the first major refurbishment made to the building since the school was first occupied in 1949. The aim was to produce memorable and influential spaces suitable for the Teaching and Research of Law in a contemporary ‘Knowledge sharing’ environment.
Collaborating with BVN, Stowe Australia and Aurecon, CMS supplied a full range of floor to ceiling solutions including:

Situated in Auckland, New Zealand, Bayleys recently moved into the new prestigious 6 story building at the heart of the harbourside Wynyard Quarter. Bayleys will occupy 3525sq meter office space which enables them to be the anchor tenant at this building. This newly built development is constructed to NABERS NZ standards and has a 5 Green Star rating with sustainable design principals that has been incorporated with high performance glazing and insulation to reduce heat transfer and energy use. This building now also hosts Platform Consulting office and Augusta Capital.
Working with Platform consulting the Project Managers & Yellow 6 the Designers and Singer Electrical the contractor, CMS supplied various softwiring solutions & cabling to compliment the work-station, conference rooms & collaborative spaces. Products such as Flip In-desk modules, KonexUS & Quad power rails were used to deliver compact and concealed power, data & AV needs. Appollo floorboxes were used for concealed and easy access of power throughout the premises.

Situated at One Parramatta Square, The University’s flagship campus has reached completion and opened its doors on Wednesday 4 January 2017. The new A-grade building comprise of approximately 26,500 square meters of space across 14 floors.
Located at 169 Macquarie Street, the building will spearhead one of Australia’s biggest urban renewal projects and is developed by Charter Hall and constructed by John Holland. The building provides a student-centred learning and teaching in a state-of-the-art collaborative environment.
Collaborating with Electrical contractor FIP, CMS supplied a full floor to ceiling solution such as Soft close floorbox for concealed power needs. Circulate Series Umbilical were supplied to deliver a clutter free cable management solution. KonexUS and Athena power modules helps deliver compact power, data and AV, while Quick flex structured cabling solution was provided to compliment the intelligent lighting throughout the premises.

Situated in Tauranga, New Zealand, Trustpower’s new office was a combined collaboration between design firms Veldhoen + Company and Warren & Mahoney. Trustpower believes an activity based workspace would support their idea of a more connected, collaborative, agile and human-centric environment. Their new workplace strategy was co-created with Veldhoen + Company and called: ‘Synergy New Ways of Working’.
Trustpower’s new office of 6,900sqm space delivers a fun and energizing work experience to all of their employees. The building is designed for an optimal balance of personal & collaborative activity.
Working with commercial furniture supplier Vidak, CMS supplied various softwired modules & cabling to compliment the fitouts meeting rooms, work-stations & collaborative areas. Products such as the KonexUS and Flip in-desk power modules help deliver compact and concealed power & data and AV, while Axess and Link Series Umbilical were supplied to deliver a hassle free cable management throughout the premises, making it a clutter free and safe working environment for their 500+ employees.

Located in Christchurch’s ‘Innovation Precinct’ on Tuam St, Vodafone’s newly built headquarters named ‘InnoV8’ is an exemplary showcase in technology and sustainability, not only in NZ, but worldwide.
InnoV8 delivers wireless technology throughout its 5 level, 8,900 square-meter premise – Partnering with Architects Jasmax, Workscape, and Kada Commercial Furniture, CMS delivered customized Quantum series wireless charging pads with integrated USB Fast Charge and USB 3.0 Data pass-through for workstations and collaborative areas. InnoV8 also features smartphone security and visitor access and wireless AV integration for meeting rooms.
Working with Melray Electrical, CMS Apollo FL Floorboxes were supplied to the boardrooms, workstations and collaborative areas delivering concealed access to power data and AV throughout the fit-out.
The building has also achieved a 5 Green Star Building rating, utilising FSC-certified timber, passive solar, LED lighting, increased natural light and air flow and diverted waste to recycling.
Vodafone’s InnoV8 is not just another ‘smart’ building, rather it represents a new benchmark set by the brand, combining leading edge wireless technology with a fractional environmental footprint.
CMS Electracom are proud to have been able to partner with Vodafone to deliver this significant fit-out, declared by NZ PM John Key as the ‘most technologically advanced building he’s opened’
NZX’s fitout in Wellington was a substantial makeover for the existing office to reflect a change in office culture. This fitout is clean, crisp and crafted perfectly to meet the requirements of NZX brand colours while incorporating a neutral palette throughout the premises. NZX office was also recently awarded the NZIA Architecture Award.

333 George Street presents a new fascia of Sydney’s iconic George St. With key tenant NAB establishing their new retail and premium banking flagship, the 5-star Green Star and 5-star NABERS building offers 15 levels of commercial office space, and 3 levels of premium retail facilities.
Partnering with electrical contractor Heyday Group, CMS delivered Quick-Flex 5-pole DALI structured cabling throughout the 12,500sqm fit-out.

Canberra’s signature address is now home to the Government’s Department of Finance, claiming a stake in the 24,000sqm commercial building. A key design criteria for One Canberra was energy efficiency and by utilising CMS softwiring and on-desk Zeus Power Rails throughout 1500 workstations, the client was able to establish a reusable, modular wiring backbone, contributing to One Canberra’s 5 Star Green Star rating.

When iconic NZ brand Icebreaker decided to relocate its headquarters from Wellington to Auckland, Architect Jasmax were given the brief to keep a connection between the offices and nature, creating something which captured the brand’s core values. Partnering with CMS, they were able to achieve the concept of connection, by using CMS acoustically rated TV wall brackets, G1 and G2 floor service boxes, together with Athena on-desk Rails and Affinity Desk boxes to conceal the necessary wiring throughout the office space. This helped seamlessly integrate the office space with the natural local vernacular materials used in the office.
This amazing project was recently awarded Gold at the NZ Best Awards, truly reflecting the client’s brand and culture without overstepping the mark, this project is a terrific example of modern workplace thinking integrated with a superb aesthetic outcome. The interpretation and use of NZ materials is innovative and intelligent.

Designed by Bates Smart & developed by Leighton, 177 Pacific Highway, will set a new benchmark for office buildings in North Sydney. The landmark development will redefine the North Sydney CBD skyline and feature just under 40,000sqm of commercial space across 30 levels.

Located in the heart of Wellington, NZ, and having recently undergone refurbishment in 2006, The Terrace is currently home to various government services including the Ministry of Health.
Partnering with electrical contractors, Seven Electrical, CMS Quick Flex Structured cabling was utilised throughout the building, selected for its renowned quality, ease of installation and reconfiguration capabilities.

This 31-level premium office tower development for 480 Queen Street is located in Brisbane’s Golden Triangle. The innovatively designed building, said to stipulate forward thinking clients further establishes Brisbane as the next commercial hub.

The Perth T1 Airport, has undergone significant redevelopment in 2009 and continuing with the ‘2014 Master Plan’ due for completion in 2020, the development aims to consolidate all commercial air services to provide a seamless airport experience.

The new Devonport Library sought to revitalise the community centrepiece with a focus on creating an inviting atmosphere with added dynamic areas including study zones and meeting hall to host local community groups

Working with Cult Design, the CMS Executive Box solution was supplied to three meeting rooms in a leading client’s office in Brisbane. The custom meeting room tables were designed to be re-arranged or packed away as required. All three meeting rooms are to be used for international executives, guests and clients.

The CMS Executive box indesk power and communications centre is an effective way of supplying power and communications connections within the workstation, boardroom, conference or meeting room tables.

The Kings Square project is strategically located within the $5.2 billion Perth City Link precinct – one of Australia’s most significant CBD urban renewal developments.

567 Collins Street is located between Spencer and King Streets, Melbourne, Victoria. The 3,942 sqm site is in the heart of Melbourne’s legal, commercial, insurance, banking and finance precincts.
Working with Stowe Australia, CMS Electracom supplied over 7,000 Dali light fittings to this project. According to an on-site Stowe representative, ‘thanks CMS for your support and service, it has been A1 through the whole process.The wiring looms have been a great success on this job in labour savings, and the ease and quality of the install’.

Work//Zone is located in the City of Perth.
This new development is located at 202 Pier Street, and creates a unique working space for staff, with ground level commercial and retail tenancies as well as multi-purpose staff amenities including bicycle facilities and change rooms.
CMS worked closely with Norman Disney & Young in supplying wiring and power solutions to the project. Furthermore, in collaboration with Zenith Interiors and Broad Constructions, CMS supplied a range of Softwiring products, Titan Floorboxes, FL Stainless Steel Floorboxes, Floor Service Outlets and Dali wiring.
As part of a refresh of its branding, Air New Zealand has been expanding and retrofitting its Koru Club lounges based on a relaxed and welcoming ‘Kiwi bach’ theme. This, together with new Zambesi-designed uniforms for its staff, increased use of the Koru symbol and a new greenstone-inspired colour palette, is all aimed at giving the airline a more uniquely New Zealand identity.
Recyclable carpet, low energy lighting and tiles made of recycled plastic bottles and inspired by the Southern Alps are some of the sustainable design features in Air New Zealand’s upgraded Christchurch Koru lounge.
As well as sustainable features it also seats about double the previous number of customers and has views of the runway and Southern Alps through floor to ceiling windows.
CMS Electracom actively worked with Jasmax Architects in designing and supplying a range of softwiring and power products. From custom designed Athena Rails to CPU holders to Cable clips for efficient cable management. Furthermore, CMS supplied the highly versatile CMS Apollo FL floorboxes featuring CMS starters – this power solution ensured that power and safety requirements of the project were met. JP Morgan was one of the larger projects for 2011. CMS was successful in working with both consultants & contractors in designing & supplying a series of solutions for this project across various trades.
CMS supplied both the Affinity in-desk softwiring boxes & the SW18 Quad power points fixed in our WG series cable management baskets. Our Quick Flex 5 pole modular wiring solution for the DALI lighting system, enabled a much quicker installation of lighting across the whole building. CMS designed & supplied a combination of custom floor boxes & floor grommet solutions throughout the fit out. The floor boxes were designed with the ability to have enough room to house not only all necessary power & data, but was also able to ensure the large AV requirements fitted easily and terminated into the floor box by the AV trade on site.
Victoria University’s Kelburn Campus, Wellington, NZ has been transformed into a vibrant hub offering world-class research and study facilities.
Designed by Athfield Architects and Architectus, the University’s Campus Hub project features a new three-level building that integrates the library and improves connections with other parts of the campus.
CMS Electracom worked closely with Beca Engineers in offering custom power solutions. To ensure the design brief was met, CMS Electracom’s in-house design team created and supplied custom floor trunking and custom floor boxes to the project.
CMS worked with Cite on custom mounting solutions for our Libelle task lighting range which was installed in the new library, further enhancing the vibrancy of the new campus hub. The Libelle task light provides a balanced soft and uniformed light distribution with low total power consumption and energy savings.
This project commenced with a design competition to develop the air rights over an existing building in Haymarket. Located on a prominent corner in the heart of Sydney’s bustling Haymarket, Bates Smart has designed a stunning new building.

The CMS Dali product is a tried and tested system being used into major projects across Australia and New Zealand for the past nine years. Over the past few years the market has been moving towards best for practice compliance – the 180 Thomas Street project has 2,000 CMS Dali controlled light fittings. The 180 Thomas Street project is designed to achieve a 5-star Green Star Office Design (v3) rating and a 5-star Green Star Office As-Built (v3) rating, plus a NABERS 4.5 star rating. CMS supplied Vinyl Council of Australia compliant cabling solution to meet the best for practice requirement on this project.
The University of Queensland Advanced Engineering Building (AEB) project will provide educational facilities for structural, civil, materials, and hydraulics engineering students within an eight storey building at UQ’s St Lucia campus.
The multi-purpose building has a combination of learning, workplace and social areas with flexible teaching and learning spaces, embracing the collaborative learning environment. AEB facilitates new teaching and learning spaces that accommodate the University’s new curriculum.
CMS Electracom where engaged by leading engineering consultancy group, Aurecon, to design a custom Floor Box solution for the Advanced Engineering Building project.
As the Floor Boxes where going to be connected to “MOCOWS” Mobile Computer on Wheels there were strict requirements by the University of Queensland to ensure the safety of their students and campus equipment.
The highly experienced CMS Electracom Design team managed to design and manufacture a custom floor box to meet the strict design guidelines, and most importantly deliver a successful solution.

CMS Electracom, market leaders of wiring and power solutions, were successful in supplying screed trunking, floorbox and softwiring products to the new Parts Distribution Centre.
Precinct Properties New Zealand’s $76 million ANZ Centre upgrade saw 22 office floors re-furbished; making it New Zealand’s biggest building renovation.
The renovation included the installation of many new services including a new outdoor cafe, a high-efficiency magnetic bearing chillers air-conditioning system, gas-fired condensing boilers, lighting systems and other services.
Over 2000 people work in the tower, this project required meticulous planning and management as tenants were still using the offices and facilities. The successful renovation delivered a splendid result and recently was awarded the Rider Levett Bucknall Supreme Award.
